Cheap and thin paper
Like a lot of its other paper products, Staples has gone to private labeling and intentionally lowered quality to squeeze more profits out. These cards are a good example. Forget the 3x5 cards you grew up with, as this paper is thin and cheap. It flops around, won't hold up, and the ink bleeds into the paper. Staples knows it could have done better but chose not to. Perfect for use
What can I say -- index cards are pretty much standard. These are inexpensive, but really do the job when you need them. I can even fit them in my printer for readable notes. I still use them for making short speeches and also placing them in envelopes when sending photos as a backing card.

Paper thin
I remember index cards being printed on a thicker card stock. They will do.

I bursted into tears as I removed these fine specimens of 3x5 greatness. Each line perfect in everyway straight and to the edge.. what else do you want in a 3x5 writing apparatus.
