Great!
So far it's the best sharpener I've had in my classroom and I've tried a LOT. Hoping it holds up

Not so Heavy-Duty
Purchased this sharpener only about 6 months ago. When it worked it worked well but as I read in another review the motor is unreliable. It's very moody and I can only do one or two pencils before the motor jams up and it makes a sound like it's stuck. I've checked the chamber to see if lead was stuck but that's not the case. There is no explanation as to why it doe...

It's HUGE!!
I'm sure this would have been a great sharpener. However we returned it. It was far more than we needed. And the price (not that it was bad) just couldn't be justified for the amount of use it would get.

Great Sharpener
We have had for a few weeks and multiple school staff have commented how they liked the auto shut off and how sharp the pencils are. Team consensus is it's a keeper!

Pencil sharpener
I am on my 3rd pencil sharpener in 1 year so this pencil sharpener has been wonderful! It is high quality and durable!

Nice item large though
Larger than anticipated - would have preferred something about half this size. This one is made for large capacity usage and I use it only now and then at home. However top load means I don't have to use two hands to sharpen a pencil (those fed horizontally tend to push the sharpener around even if they have sticky feet). A bit awkward to get the pencil in just right ...

So far so good
I'm a first grade teacher and blow through pencil sharpeners quickly. This one seems to be really good. Sharpens quickly quietly and nicely

Sharpened only one pencil
I brought two of the less expensive staples pencil sharpeners and both made too much noise and didn't sharpen well. I went back and exchanged for one of these which states it is heavy duty. I opened up the box sharpened one pencil then it stopped working. Who ever makes this for Staples is not doing the company justice.

Words great - only teacher operates it.
I am a 3rd grade school teacher. My school has gone through so many sharpeners so I decided to purchase my own. I am the ONLY one that uses it and I usually sharpen in bulk. I also only use regular wood pencils - do not sharpen color pencils or pencils with plastic around it. I've broken too many others by doing that. Decent sharpener for moderate use
This is a relatively good sharpener for the money. I use it in my classroom and it is extremely fast and sharp. The main problem I see is that it often only sharpens one side of the pencil.

Doubtful if will last long
I work at a school and we need a pencil sharpner that will last this one did not shave the wood off evenly and I haven't found any sharpner manual or electric that seems to last through lots of usage.

I wouldn't buy this pencil sharpener
The pencil sharpener broke after 3 days. I received AWFUL service from the employees at the store. They accused me of lying when I returned the pencil sharpener. It was one of the worst experiences. I hesitate to ever shop at Staples again.

Poor product quality
Product not working after 3 months of use. I don't recommend buying this product. Price is too much for a product that has a short life span.

weak showing
I was very disappointed with this purchase. I bought it to use in my classroom because it claimed to be heavy duty. It died within two weeks. When I returned it to the store there were none of the same model was available and even the more expensive model was not available.
